Where were you born? What country are your ancestors from? Ancestors means relatives like your great grandparents.
The 7th grade history class and several reading classes are studying immigration. Where were you born? What country did your ancestors (or relatives like your great grandparents) come from? pictures from: Flicr:Creative Commons
My great grandparents on my mother's side immigrated to the U.S. from Norway. They came on a ship like in the picture. My dad's relatives immigrated from Norway and Germany.
I'm not sure where my great grandparents are from? My family has lived in N.C. since the mid-1800's. My last name is Mitchell and I believe that it Scottish.
I was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. My ancestors are from France, I think. I am not quite sure though, because even my great grandparents lived in North Carolina.
I was born in Charlotte, NC. My last name is smith..so I am assuming this is English. I am not really sure where my ancestors are since my grandmother was adopted and my great grandfather was indian.
I was born in Washington, North Carolina. My ancestors are from Britain. My close family is mainly from the country areas of North Carolina. My last name is Fortescue which is British.
My name is Chantel Fortescue. Fortescue is the 88825th most common family name in the United States. Fortescue occurs 194 times in the most recent US Census (2000. 0.07 out of every 100,000 people in the United States have the family name Fortescue.
I was born in Dover, Delaware. My ancestors are from southern Germany. My grandparents spoke Pennsylvania Dutch and English, which is sort of Americanized German. The word German in German is "Deutsch," pronounced "Doytch." Looks kind of like "Dutch" to English speakers. They didn't teach my father or his sister Pennsylvania Dutch because they thought they would get better jobs and do better in school if they just knew English.
I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Most of my ancestors are from Ireland and England. My father's grandmother was from Hungary, and my mother used to fix dishes from the cookbook she left us.
I was born in Mocksville, North Carolina. And my great grandparents were from North Carolina as far as I know. I have been told that I have Irish, Indian, and Dutch in me. So I would say that my ancestors were from Ireland and Denmark.
