Did you eat at a Thanksgiving feast?

In several of our literacy classes we read about the Pilgrims. One of the words we talked about was "feast". Did your family have a Thanksgiving feast with lots of food? If so, what foods did your family have at your feast?

I cooked for my family. We had turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, cranberries, caramel apple salad, rolls, wild rice, lefse, and apple pie. My favorite is lefse! Lefse is made with potatoes, flour, cream, and butter. You roll it thin and then fry it on a grill. You spread it with butter, roll it up, and eat it. It is delicious!

I had two Thanksgivings! Every year I go with my parents and brother to my mom's and my dad's parents houses. We eat basically the same thing at either place: Turkey, Ham, Chicken (yes, we have all three...haha), cranberry sauce, dressing, brocolli and cauliflower, potatoes, asparagus casserole, rolls, cranberry salad, and pumpkin pie!

My mom and my 2 sisters came to my house for thanksgiving. They drove almost 800 miles to be with my daughter and I. Then my mom cooked a traditional Thanksgiving dinner - turkey, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, and gravy. We had apple pie, pumpkin pie, coconut custard pie and my daughter and my sister made cupcakes. I made a vegetarian soup and stewed apples with biscuits - it was mmm-mmm .... good.

I went to visit friends in Louisiana, and we enjoyed some turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, and even some Philippino food! Most of my friends deployed to Iraq right after Thanksgiving, so it was nice visiting for the holiday.
