Where is your favorite place to visit in Minnesota or North Carolina? Why?
One of our pen pals asked about tourist attractions in Minnesota. We said that a tourist visits a place away from home for fun. Where should a tourist to Minnesota or North Carolina visit? Why?
I think everyone visiting MN should take a bike ride on the Paul Bunyan Trail. It's an old railroad converted into a bike path. The path winds through forests and around our 10,000 lakes.
Many people who come to visit Minnesota like to see the Mall of America. They are surprised at all the attractions and stores inside. Also, the lakes in Minnesota are fun to visit in the summer and go boating or swimming.
A lot of people like coming to North Carolina because it has the best of both worlds; the coast and the mountains. In the mountains, there are a lot of hiking trails and fun activities to do. The beaches in North Carolina are quiet, but offer lots of fishing, swimming, and other activities to particiapte in.
A lot of people who visit North Carolina like to visit the coast and see all the lighthouses. People who come to the mountains of North Carolina often like to go hiking on the Appalachian Trail or swimming in lakes and rivers.
I don't have one favorite place. We are lucky living in North Carolina because we have the beach on one side of the state and the mountains in the other. I of course live in the mountains in Boone, NC while I'm going to school here at Appalachian State but I'm originally from the middle of the state where it's just regular flat land area. I love where I grew up though because we have tons of farm area and when I was little my family had three big gardens and we'd get up early every weekend and go pick all the stuff we were growing. It was nice too because we live beside my grandmother and on the other side of my grandmother was my great-grandmothers house so we all lived right next to each other and the weekends in the garden were great family times. My little sister now goes to school at University of North Carolina Wilminton which is at the beach. My mom always jokes around and says she has a beach house and a mountain house since I live in the mountains and my sister at the beach because they know they can come stay with us whenever they like. I love North Carolina, all of it.
My favorite place to visit in Minnesota is Lutsen. It is a great place to visit during any season. Lutsen is on the shore of Lake Superior. The scenery is spectacular! It is a great place to visit during any season. In the winter you can ski on Lutsen Mountain. (It's not really a mountain. It is a high hill.) During the other seasons there are a lot of great places for hiking.
I have only been to North Carolina once and didn't get to see very much of the state. My favorite place to visit was Smiley's in Lexington. I went there with friends. We had a fun time and ate delicious "pulled pork". That is barbecued pork that is different and better than what we get in Minnesota.
My favorite places to visit in North Carolina are the Outer Banks and the Smoky Mountains. I love the mountains and the beach. North Carolina has both, so that's why I love NC so much!
My favorite place to go in North Carolina is the blue ridge parkway. I love to go hiking on it, but I also love to just drive along it listening to some good music on a Sunday afternoon.
If I had to pick one place, I am definitely going to have to say Ashe County Cheese Plant. I know that sounds ridiculous, but it is in my hometown, and it is the ONLY Cheese Plant in the whole state of NC. Plus, if you love Cheese, they have everything you could ever imagine!
